Foreign Students
Students from all over the world train at Sky Wings; we are familiar with Department of Immigration procedures and offer full support in finding lodging, transportation, etc. We can also provide you with information regarding funding through the Student Loans Program and the ATAC Financing Plan. Applications for both are available from our office at the address shown on the contact page.
If you are an international student, you will be required to have a valid student visa to attend our academy. To obtain a student visa, you must go through a Canadian Embassy in your own country. You will need to take the following to your Canadian Embassy:
1. A letter from us specifying that you have been accepted as a student at our institution. In this letter we must:
include the name of your course
include the length of your course, start date and finish date
specify that you are enrolled in full time study
2. Citizenship information (birth certificate, passport)
3. Application fee of $125
4. Proof of financial means for tuition and living expenses.
Fluency in English
We recommend that students not fluent in English enroll in the English language program offered at Red Deer College. Those not fluent in English typically need to budget an additional program cost of approximately $1000 (Canadian funds) for longer training requirements. Sky Wings will assist you in making these arrangements.
Accommodation
We can provide you with information on accommodations. You have a wide variety of choices available at Sky Wings, at Red Deer College and in the surrounding communities (see location maps). Living costs will run from $600 to $1000 (Canadian) per month for food and housing. Costs vary depending on choice of residence.
